And was physically sickened. I am terrified to send my baby out into the world someday. In a way, it's good to know that there are other people out there, but it's still sad. And it shouldn't be. And I shouldn't still get sick my stomach in fear if I have to talk to a high schooler.Laurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03952785632790506850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6418046660417229910.post-31032438624690055472010-04-01T11:09:12.490-04:002010-04-01T11:09:12.490-04:00This totally brings back some of the worst memorie...This totally brings back some of the worst memories. I can relate to you, Tiff. I just don't know how teachers and parents don't know what is going on?? I can remember telling my mom how upset I was because people made fun of my hair, clothes and weight and my mom telling me, "you will be okay. I got made fun of in school, too" The eventually led me into a ton of other issues.....good post!Laurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17806658088691795496noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6418046660417229910.post-50597760716179853952010-04-01T08:02:50.565-04:002010-04-01T08:02:50.565-04:00((hugs))((hugs))Colleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12497058150724359331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6418046660417229910.post-18273175940820032010-03-31T20:11:06.927-04:002010-03-31T20:11:06.927-04:00Tiff, I really commend you for writing this. I too...Tiff, I really commend you for writing this. I too dealt with some similar stuff in middle school. In fact, probably from some of the same people. And in some ways, it has stuck with me as well. I, to this day will wonder if someone's talking about me behind my back when I see them whispering or acting weird. HATE that feeling more than anything. I absolutely hate at times feeling like I ever need to say "Are you mad at me?!" I can't tell you how many times I had to say that during my middle school years and how I never want to have to deal with behavior like that EVER again. Just know that you're not alone in having to deal with those issues, even to this day. And also know that there are others out there who would like to see more done about school bullying. I'm actually pursuing my master's in school counseling right now and would love to make that a huge initiative at whatever school district I might work for some day. Kudos again for taking on a serious issue and even throwing some of your own experiences out there! (not sure if you know my AIM screenname which is what I'm posting this under, so I'll tell you. This is Tiffany Thomas...the OTHER Tiff from back in the day aka Tiff Pearson)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
